AllPeopleBeHappy Foundation History

The AllPeopleBeHappy Foundation was created after Eric J. Tang tragically died in an accident at a waterfall in Mexico. Created by his parents, Sunny and Barbara Tang, and their family and friends, the Foundation started out by sending unsolicited donations of $1,000 to 10 different US organizations doing charity work in the developing world. 

From that modest beginning, the Foundation grew steadily, impacting tens of thousands of people each year. By 2024, the Foundation was running 5 separate programs: 

• AllPeopleBeHappy Project Grants – $10K to $15K grants to 10-15 different organizations; 
• Challenge Grants – $100,000 over 3-years to do a step-out project; 
• Opportunity Projects – unlimited funding to do a major project initiated by the Foundation; 
• Fellows Grants – grants that partially pay the salary of developing NGO leaders); and
• Volunteer Service Awards – $2500 grants to US students doing service projects in the developing world. 

In the Foundation’s history, well over $1,000,000 in grants were made to organizations all over the world, positively impacting hundreds of thousands of people.
