ExperiencesOpen Group Program in Jamaica 2027

Just announced!

Next summer AllPeopleBeHappy is offering an unforgettable, community-based learning experience in Jamaica.

Open Group Experience in Jamaica: July 12–16, 2027

Overview

For the past 23 years, the Petersfield Galloway Benevolent Society (PGBS), one of AllPeopleBeHappy’s longest-standing partners, has hosted an annual summer camp for children and youth from under-resourced communities in the area. Over the course of two weeks each summer, participants engage in a mix of educational and recreational activities, while also receiving a warm daily lunch.

This beloved camp has become a staple in the community calendar, providing families—who might not otherwise be able to afford it—the opportunity to send their children to a safe, enriching summer experience. The PGBS Summer Camp is entirely planned, designed, and led by community volunteers, making it a meaningful opportunity for local residents to give back and support the next generation.

We are offering two open group opportunities for individuals interested in supporting the planning and implementation of the PGBS Summer Camp.

Who is this experience for?

This experience is designed for individuals or families interested in supporting a grassroots, volunteer-led community development organization in rural Jamaica. Participants will work side-by-side with local volunteers to plan and implement the PGBS annual summer camp.

While there will be opportunities for cultural and recreational activities, the primary focus of this experience is to support the successful delivery of the summer camp for local children and youth.
