Next summer AllPeopleBeHappy is offering an unforgettable, community-based learning experience in Italy.
Open Group Experience in Italy: October 2-10, 2027
Overview
Experience northern Italy through a program that brings together community engagement, service, culture, and the alpine landscape. Beginning in Trento and continuing into the Tesino area, this experience offers a chance to learn from local communities while exploring some of the distinctive places of northern Italy. Participants will work alongside community partners, spend time in historic towns and mountain communities, and experience the region through a combination of service, discussion, and exploration.
The program includes service with Villa Sant’Ignazio, a social cooperative in Trento, and SAT Tesino, a local alpine club in Castello Tesino. Participants will also take day trips to Verona and Riva del Garda, explore Trento and Castello Tesino on foot, and take part in cultural and outdoor activities. Daily reflection and discussion will help connect these experiences to broader questions about community, place, service, and meaningful cultural engagement.
Important Dates
- June 4, 2027: The last day to register. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to complete registration. Early bird special: Register by May 4, 2027 for $100 off the total program fee! This program needs a minimum of 8 participants to run.
- August 4, 2027: Mid-payment – 50% of program fee due
- September 4, 2027: Final payment due
Logistics
Participants should plan to travel overnight on Saturday, October 2, arriving at Venice airport on Sunday, October 3. The group will meet at the airport and transfer by private coach to Trento, where the program will begin with lunch, a welcome and orientation, a walking tour, and dinner.
The first portion of the program will be based in Trento, with service activities and day trips to Verona and Riva del Garda. On October 8, the group will check out and transfer by private coach to Castello Tesino for the final portion of the experience, including service with SAT Tesino (Alpine Club) and a cultural or outdoor activity in the Tesino area.
On Sunday, October 10, participants will check out and transfer by private coach to Venice airport for departure. Specific arrival and departure time guidance will be shared once flight planning details are finalized.
Accommodations and Meals
Participants will stay in accommodations in Trento during the first portion of the program and in Castello Tesino during the final portion. Specific lodging details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
Who is this experience for?
This experience is designed for travelers, aged 60 and over, interested in combining international travel with meaningful community engagement. Participants should be comfortable with a program that blends service, walking tours, cultural excursions, outdoor activities, group meals, and daily reflection. It is especially well suited for people who want to learn about northern Italy through direct engagement with local organizations and communities rather than through sightseeing alone.

ALLPEOPLEBEHAPPY’S CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICIES
If your trip must be canceled prior to departure, please contact our office as soon as possible. Deposits are nonrefundable. The remainder of your refund will be determined by the date and conditions of your cancellation as follows.
- Individuals who send a written cancellation notification to the AllPeopleBeHappy Office before August 5, 2027 will receive a full refund, minus the nonrefundable deposit.
- Individuals who send a written cancellation notification to the AllPeopleBeHappy Office between August 5 and August 31, 2027 will receive a 50% refund of the mid-payment (exclusive of the nonrefundable deposit).
- Individuals who send written cancellation notification to the AllPeopleBeHappy Office on or after September 1, 2027 will not be guaranteed any refund. AllPeopleBeHappy will work with the community partners on if/how much of a refund may be possible.
If AllPeopleBeHappy cancels a program before the program start date for any reason, we will issue a full refund for the program fee and the deposit.
AllPeopleBeHappy requires a minimum of 6 participants to run this open group program. If the minimum number of participants is not met, AllPeopleBeHappy will notify all participants by June 4th. We advise against purchasing non-refundable airfare before June 4th unless otherwise notified.
