MEET OUR PARTNERS

Magpie Community Foundation

The Magpie Community Foundation is a family and community-based organization that seeks to provide resources through grants, nutritious food, heat, and housing to the indigenous residents of Allen and Martin South Dakota. We operate with a Lakota majority board and our values are based on Lakota culture and the fundamental grace of “mitakuye oyasin” or “we are all related”. This Most basic value of Lakota life implies the inseparable oneness of humans, animals, the earth, the grass that grows, our neighbors struggling with addictions, our relatives living in poverty, those who are sick, and those who are frightened. Every life is honored equally and considered family and it is our work to meet our family’s needs in every way we can.
