New projects, more momentum: learn more about our five newest AllPeopleBeHappy Impact Projects

AllPeopleBeHappy is thrilled to announce the results of our most recent Impact Committee meeting. The committee approved five new projects and selected a new class of fellows for the second year of our AllPeopleBeHappy fellows program.

  • WCYA in Ghana – Borehole Initiative: This is a vital project focused on securing reliable and safe potable water for three specific communities in Ghana’s Western Region. The plan involves drilling and constructing boreholes, which will be designed and protected to ensure long-term portability and sustainable service. This immediate intervention is critical to avert severe and irreversible acute and chronic health consequences for these communities. WCYA’s work in rural communities across the Volta, Western, and Northern Regions of Ghana has consistently highlighted the urgent need for safe drinking water, as residents often rely on contaminated streams that cause recurring outbreaks of diarrhea, typhoid, and other sanitation-related illnesses.
    • Estimated to directly and indirectly impact between 5,000-11,000 people.
  • Rukmini Foundation in Nepal – Economic Empowerment of Women’s Group: The project will directly empower 30 women from low-income households by providing hands-on organic farming training, essential resources such as seeds, fertilizers, and tools, and continuous mentorship from agricultural experts. The project will also cover trainer travel, logistics, contingency costs, and operational support to ensure smooth and effective implementation. By equipping women with the skills and resources to grow and supply fresh, nutritious vegetables to over 350 schoolchildren, this initiative will create a sustainable cycle of economic empowerment, improved child nutrition, and strengthened community resilience, generating lasting benefits for the entire village.
    • Estimated to directly and indirectly impact 2,800-2,900 people.
  • FADECO in Tanzania – Installation of Panda Cookers in Four Schools in Karagwe: This project will support the installation of four innovative, fuel-efficient Panda Cookers in four secondary schools in the Karagwe District: Rugu, Nyakasimbi, Kajunguti, and Rwambaizi. These clean cookstoves are designed to significantly reduce firewood consumption and harmful smoke emissions, improving health and promoting environmental conservation.
    • Estimated to directly impact over 1,200 people.
  • Maji Safi Group (MSG) in Tanzania – Healthy Futures: Combating Childhood Malnutrition through Community-Based Education and Local Nutrition Support: This initiative aims to increase awareness of malnutrition and improve access to both prevention and treatment. Building on its Community Health Educator (CHE) model, which is composed mainly of local women who provide health education in rural areas, MSG has already integrated malnutrition prevention into Disease Prevention Center visits at 12 Health Care Facilities (HCFs) in Rorya District. With this project, services will expand to 10 more facilities, reaching a total of 22. The initiative also includes training families to prepare nutritious meals using local foods and ensuring small stocks of ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) and peanut supplements are available at dispensaries for families who cannot afford to travel to the Shirati KMT District Hospital. By combining community education with improved local access to treatment, the program addresses both urgent needs and long-term prevention.
    • Estimated to directly and indirectly impact over 10,000 people.
  • National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) in Washington DC, USA – Rapid Relief Fund: This project is an urgent response designed to provide replacement survival items for individuals with lived experience in communities impacted by the President’s Executive Order on homelessness. People experiencing homelessness in the District of Columbia have lost essential items such as their identification, medical devices, and medication. In addition to those crucial items, blankets, tents, utilities, and meals have also been removed during raids on encampments and seizures by foot patrols. This project aims to address the immediate needs of people experiencing homelessness while NCH continues their broader mission to end homelessness.
    • Estimated to directly impact 150 people in phase 1 and eventually grow to reach 1,500 people.

We can’t wait to see the impact these new projects will have! Stay tuned for more information about each project and the new class of fellows very soon.
